.MIA+JORDAN.
Mia & Jordan had a wonderful wedding in May at Stone Ridge Event Center. I love photographing them. They have a serious and incredible chemistry that is in no way hidden from me behind the camera. I love how they can take incredible serious shots and make me look good. =) Here are a few favs -

Waiting...
MAJOR road block in the blog/website launch. My - oh it will totally be ready to go by July 1st - was a long shot I guess. I really didn't think so but that's what happens sometimes. =) I just had 2 weekends of back to back awesome weddings, plus a couple before that that I haven't blogged about yet. I'm excited to share but the heart of wedding season has arrived and I am BUSY! =)
On another note my son has been walking for the past couple of weeks which has been a handful and all my daughter wants to do is go to the pool. Busy, busy, busy. =) I love it though -
They turn the big 1 and 3 this month. Where do the days go?

.ELISE & JUSTIN - MAY 18.
See, I am totally behind on my posting. This gorgeous couple were married back in May!!!! =) Anyway, it was May 18th, the hottest day in May. It was over 100degrees and roasting but it really wasn't that bad. It was a really sweet ceremony with lots of emotion and giggling. Here are some of my favs from the day.

After their first sight -

Justin wiping off the lip gloss - I like to force people to kiss on their wedding day.

Nice cloud halo action going on

WOW.

WOWzers.

Update
I am SO behind on blogging, sorry. I have so many great engagement, family, maternity shoots and a few weddings to share that I'm excited about. I'm also super, super excited to launch my new website & blog. My goal is by July 1st and think that will definitely happen. =) I am still going to leave my current website active for awhile because I will have a new domain with only pictures from 2007 & currently in 2008. I still love my current site and the images on it and I really cant part with it. My new site will have super huge pictures and showcase more of the fun & intimate side of my imagery. Still simple, nothing flashy but I think you'll like it. =)

More to come
Are you kidding me? That sun flare is the shiznit. =)
I have so many shoots and weddings to share - they are coming. I just had to share this image that I got on Sunday. I'll explain the shoot, who the uber cool couple is and post a bazillion more of their images. This shoot was all for me and my creative juices!

JANI+CODY.ENGAGED
Spending the morning in Pullman with these two cuties couldn't have been any better! They decided that they wanted me to travel to shoot the engagement session and I was very excited to do so. I'm married to a Coug, my sisters are Cougs - some of my favorite people in my life are Cougs. Pullman brings back memories of driving in my super fast Integra, for what seemed like 10 hours, back and forth from Seattle to see Matt on my days off. Ah to be young and 21 again...anyway, Matt and the kids made the trip with me and he took them all over campus while I spent 3 WHOLE HOURS with Jani & Cody. I was beat, they were beat, but it was so much fun and totally worth it! Jani & Cody can be lovey/romantic & goofy in a split second. They had some very specific and memorable places that they wanted to go so that helped because I was going crazy with ideas. I want to keep this post short because I could go on and on...
They are getting married this September at Stone Ridge Event Center.
We started off at the Bookie

I thought these flowers were so pretty. Nerd alert!

Jani's sister was with us tending to hair/make-up needs. =)

SAAAAAAAAAAAAsy!

On top of the Library making them do ridiculous things to make me laugh =) I absolutely love this one

We got into the stadium for some fun. The fun pics I will keep private for Jani & Cody...I dont want to make any of the WWF wrestlers jealous of their moves...

Coolest thing ever!

Had to revisit the actual parking spot where their first kiss was - now they're getting married. =)

Jani and Cody thank you so much for opening up to me so much and letting me see so much of where the "Jani & Cody" came from. I am so excited to be apart of your wedding memories. I had so much fun.

I am editing the wedding of the super cute Elise & Justin and I had to share this image. Justin's vows were a TOTAL tear jerker, and here is Elise grabbing a tissue. I thought this candid moment was so sweet. More to come from their wedding that was held at the fabulous Stone Ridge Event Center on May 19th.

VISA+SERIGN.ENGAGED
Visa & Serign are gettin' hitched on the 4th of July at Stone Ridge. How cool is that to have the huge TRAC firework show be going on right behind us. I am SO excited!!! What an even MORE memorable evening. I was stoked to shoot back home again, I'll take it any day...even the typical overcast day we had. They were a total blast to hang out with and every single image brings back a memory for me. Shooting in the midst of the public can be nerve racking for the couple & challenging for the photographer - but we made the best of it and got some really fun photos. Riding pigs was even involved. =) Thanks for the really fun time you guys!
We started off at Kerry Park. We could look down Queen Anne and see their apartment building.

We just happened to stumble upon this little park on the walk to the car

Comfy in their Coug gear now.

There is a funny story behind this. I dont remember if I asked them to get on the pig or not, but after Serign got off Visa got back on and wanted it all to herself. Just me on the pig!! Just me!! she was shouting. I almost peed my pants! Had to be there...=)

Check out the bling!

Rambling...
I wanted to share this VIDEO with you. I'm constantly having to remind myself to live my life every day, slow down, relax and relish in the loveliness of my children. They are such a blessing. I remember when I was a kid I wanted to be older, now as I get older I have so much more to look back on and sometimes it makes me sad to see it flying by. I see the most important people to me getting older and that scares me and makes me sad as well. I see my precious little girl growing up and that scares me as well. I am nervous about raising a daughter because I realize how incredibly important the relationship between a mother & daughter is and how it could go wrong so easily. I want to be her best friend, through life, even the teenage years. I want her to hold me when her heart gets broken, confide in me with life's challenges, and always see me for who I am - the mother who would give my life for hers. I want her to always know that I will accept her for who she is, no matter what path of life she takes and how I may disagree with her. I want to run through the fields with her looking back, smiling at me. I love being a mother, that is what I have always wanted to be. This song/video made me think about life & motherhood and how both of them are a privilege. I constantly need to remind myself to relish in daily life.

TIFFANY+DOUG.ENGAGED
Phew, and people think it's wedding season...it's like engagement session season for me AND wedding season. This was a really fun, exciting with little bit of drama shoot. I decided not to post any "surprise" pictures but while we were shooting Tiffany's strap on her super cute summer dress broke. I was shooting while it happened, and both of their reactions were so hilarious. Of course no one had a safety pin, and we tried a few things, but she just had to change...but it was funny. Doug is cousins with my buddy Alissa with Better Than A Bridesmaid. She apparently put in a good word for me. =) I love these 2. They are goofy, down to earth, SO in love and were a blast to hang out with. I'm so excited to be a part of their wedding in November.
We started off in an alfalfa field out on a farm in Pasco.

I have never used hay as much as I did here -

Look what I put people through!!

My favorite

Doug has MAD booty shakin' skills!

Look at those heels - work it!

Doug looked like a T-Rex, not a bunny rabbit, in a position they got themselves in - I had to make fun of him, so then of course he played it up. =)

So sweet.

BROOKE + BRIAN = ENGAGED
I was so excited when I got the inquiry about this wedding. I was not able to photograph Brooke's sister Heather's wedding last year because my son was due right before it, but I did shoot her engagement session. I put on my blog post a little something about how Heather's sister was getting married...as a hint because I wanted to do it and I'm SO glad that I'm going to have the honor. Brooke's sister is married to the brother of one of my dearest friends' husband - so we're all tied together in some way. =)
Anyway, enough of my rambling on - we had a great time hanging out. It's so cute to be with couples who are so used to looking at the camera and smiling - I like to make them feel awkward by not doing that and seeing what they do. =) It's all in good fun and we had a lot of it. B&B are getting married shortly at Stone Ridge and it's going to be a great time! Here are a couple favorites -

Brian was blowing her hair out of the way - thanks! Too funny =)

A new favorite of mine:

Nice form huh?

I like to get people dirty =)

I love it close up too!

A favorite
I was just going through Tiffany & Doug's e-session photos and came across this one. When I saw it in my LCD that day I knew I was going to love it, and I do. The light was so nice, their expressions are so moody, and I love adding my post-process flair to an image like the texturing in this one. Not every picture has to be smiley, happy go lucky to make you smile. In this case, I just have to say wowee!!!!!! =)

CHRISTINA & MATT - APRIL 26
What an amazing experience. I had the pleasure of spending Christina & Matt's special day with them and their spectacular friends & family. It was a small & intimate, beautiful & emotional wedding and an absolute joy to photograph. We had an hour to photograph the couple & groups and it was a piece of cake. I was overwhelmed with the gratitude from a number of people there and was brought to tears more than a few times. I have never had a mother in tears thanking me - it was one of the most humbling experiences I've had and I will never forget it.
Christina was a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed a few years ago and I was honored when she called me when it was her turn. She is so adorable, intelligent and when you speak to her she will make you feel as if there is no one else in the room. Matt has the most piercing blue eyes I have ever seen on a man. I had to stop shooting at one time and just tell him how seriously gorgeous his eyes are. My photos will not do them justice. I was totally distracted by them...I'm usually focusing more on the bride. =)
The Glover Mansion in Spokane is such an awesome place to have a wedding. It was rustic, yet elegant, and perfect for the occasion.
On a side note, this is probably TMI, but Chelee and I were in SO many of each others candid photos in this wedding. It was hilarious to look at in edit. Just thought I'd share.

The Glover Mansion was an amazing venue to photograph

Absolutely beautiful.

Dang those eyes are serious!

This is a re-creation of an engagement photo, too funny and too long to explain =)

1 hour = fabulous photos

Christina's 2 brothers switched turns walking her down the aisle. It was really sweet -

Married! =)

Some pics from our fun engagement session - love it!

Holly & Tim - OCTOBER 2005 - I wasn't blogging then. =)

Matt's dad ran out of champagne during all the sweet toasts...the best man took care of it

I love all the emotions at weddings.

Peace OUT!

JESSICA & MARK - APRIL 19
This was the first time EVER that I had never met the couple before the wedding. Mark & Jessica live down in CA and it just never worked out to meet up. Although after meeting with both mothers I knew that it would be a great match. Both families were incredibly amazing to work with and I had a great time. There were so many unique traditions and it was SUCH a fun crowd...it was quite the party. Wine was a-flowin'!
Venue - Stone Ridge Event Center
Catering - Castle Catering
Flowers - Twigs & Petals
Cake - Cakes by Roseanne

Lindsay Rodgers doing her thang!

Everyone cry on 3...=)

Mark is very handsome and I love his HUGE smile & his pimpin' look

Are you kidding me w/ all the hotness?

I love this shot that Chelee got before Jessica walked down in the aisle w/ her dad

The guys walked over & gave their jackets to the girls, so sweet. Kudos to the guy who's idea that was!

Anything is possible in wine country!

Castle Catering blew me away with their concept for the food & presentation. They always do really fresh & unique things.

This was my favorite - Tomato bisque w/ a grilled cheese panini - so yummy!

The Red Dress dance, one of the really cool traditions they had

KATIE + RANDY = ENGAGED
I dont know how I was lucky enough to stumble upon this location, but I was in heaven! Katie & Randy have that great serious/sexy/not smiling look and really took some amazing images. It was funny, I had never met Randy and the first thing he says to me...even before hello...was I dont know what to do, I dont know how to fake smile. Too funny - I will rarely ask a couple to smile at the camera. It did help that Katie is a total doll and a natural in front of the camera and I think Randy did SUCH an amazing job for being a little nervous about the whole thing. I'm very pleased with their images and how they shared themselves so openly with me.

ELISE & DEREK
I thought getting pregnant (before, no I'm not pregnant again) and having to cancel 6 weddings was stressful and heartbreaking...yeah, this was worse. At least I gave those couples a lot of advance notice that I wasn't going to be able to photograph their wedding. BUT, when you wake up the morning of a wedding and feel like a train ran you over, thats not good. It's something I wanted to bring up and not be all ashamed about because as wedding photographers we cannot totally guarantee that we wont get sick, pregnant or whatever... but our job is EXTREMELY important. That pressure is pretty stressful but yet I love my job and I wouldn't be happy doing anything else - so I take that stress no problem. Anyway, I am never sick, FLU sick, ever - maybe every few years...and my few years was up. I was miserable, totally miserable the whole day leading up to the shoot and I questioned if I was physically going to be able to handle it. I pushed myself, was totally up front with the couple and we headed out on location. Being that it was cold outside and wind blowing like crazy, it really felt like laying on a cold bathroom floor - comforting when you're sick right? =) I thought it went great and I only had to take a few breaks, well like 5 or 6, but I got through it and was ready to pass the reigns to Chelee to shoot the reception candids. My point - as a professional, I always have an assistant/second shooter with me at EVERY wedding. There are a ton of reasons why but this is just one of them - to SMA in a situation like that. A wedding is a once in a lifetime celebration and I take my responsibility to document it very seriously.
Anyway, enough about that! On to Derek & Elise - which I have to mention, I was really, really bummed to miss their party. Derek has been in a couple weddings I've shot as a groomsman and he is the life of the party. He makes everyone laugh, party hard and his best man speeches are extremely memorable. =) Elise is gorgeous and has legs to absolutely die for. She worked it out in a short and sexy wedding dress - I was loving it, very non-traditional. They were already married awhile ago and this was their big reception. They were troopers. Elise was freezing and shivering out in the cold but stuck it out. I was so happy that they did and trusted me to hang in there through my yuckiness. I'm sure it was not how they wanted to remember our time together but hopefully their images will speak for themselves. Here are some of my favorites.

JEALOUS!!!!!

I love the b/w version so much I had to show it too... I'm such a nerd.

Their stunning little boy Connor.

Elise's sister had a hard time keeping it together, it was really cute to watch.

Here are a couple of my favorite shots Chelee took of Derek & Elise with me - and then some of hers from the party.

April is the gorgeous face on my blogs' header - which will completely changing soon and I'm really excited! Anyway, it was perfect weather, perfect couple and I am loving the images we got. I can't wait for their wedding in June and I'm so excited to be a part of their day. Here are only a few of my favs -

Lilly
This was an experience, my youngest newborn - 9 days old. I thought she did SUCH an amazing job...however, she did poop on her mom when she was naked but it's all part of the experience. =) It's so moving to look at a newborn baby again and see how fast time flies with your own. I couldn't have gotten home fast enough that day. Here are some favs.

Yucky.
So I get home from my trip to CA which was totally inspiring & fun and end up with the flu...hard core. I'm just starting to feel better but I have unfortunately given it to my husband and daughter and they are seriously miserable right now. I just hope it passes by my son.
Besides THAT disgusting topic I'm playing a bit of catch up and will be sharing soon -

Another family from the fall
Here's another beautiful family from the Fall. We are lucky enough to use the grounds of Stone Ridge Event Center and I couldn't have been happier about that. It was really cool to be out there photographing a family! They were so much fun and so relaxed. We got some really great shots of the family and their beautiful little girl Presley. Here are just a few to share -

Belly shots
Here are some shots from an actual RECENT session I did...I think it was a month or so ago...=) Anyway, the couple are co-workers of my husband's and have the cutest son who was SO much fun to work with. They are expecting their second son very soon and I'm not surprised how gorgeous she looks! Here are a few favs -

MIA+JORDAN - ENGAGED
OK, so I'm a little caught up. I actually had this shoot about a month ago...I'm getting better! =) Jordan was a groomsman in a wedding I photographed a couple years ago for Karma & Tyler - which was a complete blast! I am really excited for Jordan's turn now and his fiancee Mia is a total sweetie. He knows the owners of the Preston Winery and wanted to head out there for the shoot. They have some vintage tractors and really cool grounds that we had fun walking around and getting to know each other.
On a side note, I am so excited for Spring and the warm weather to be here! =)

Sarah w/ Stone Ridge Event Center
I wanted to share a little impromptu shoot I did a few months ago. This is the infamous Sarah from Stone Ridge Event Center and her wonderful husband Luke. I wanted to try out some new locations and needed a couple to photograph and they happily volunteered. I have become friends with Sarah over the years and we all hung out and had a great time together - here are just a couple to share.
If you are planning a wedding or know someone who is go see Sarah at Stone Ridge. It is a gorgeous place to hold any event and she will totally take care of you!

My beautiful kids
[ Marlee ] almost 3!

[ Chase ] 7 months

After my previous post about my daughter I wanted to share a recent photo of her from a couple days ago. She is on her 3rd round of antibiotics and we are hopeful that she will stay clear. She began to itch again after her first round, so we haven't seen what she is like off of them for a long time. Keep your fingers crossed!
Thank you to all of you who have sent me your kind emails. They mean the world to me and I really appreciate the support!
I had to include my super adorable charming son too...who is officially crawling! Remember my last photos of him that I posted - he had red/brown hair!

A few families
I am going to update you on a couple of the shoots I did in the fall last year. Like I've said numerous times before...I have been such a bad blogger, shame on me. =) I'm short on words tonight so I'm going to share WAY TOO MANY images in this post.
OMG! The backyard of this house was a photographer's dream! I showed up and was like, dah dah dah dah!!!!!! I am in heaven and the family was so wonderful to work with. I had a lot of fun playing with the girls and REALLY had a hard time picking favorites to share.

And of course the very famous Carrick family who are plastered all over my sites. My partner in crime, or um...motherhood, Kelly and her hubby and beautiful girls. This picture they used for their Christmas card - how fun is that. The flying blondie is Ella who is buddies with my daughter.

I did this shoot right before the Carricks in the park and it was an incredibly gorgeous fall evening. All these families are so stinkin' good looking! =) Anyway, I photographed the Samples family last year as well and now their little girl is 1 and is the spunkiest little thing. I had a lot of fun working with them as you can see and I had a hard time choosing some favorites.

Abbey wasn't too sure about being in a huge pile of leaves

So they just threw them at her...

too funny =)

It doesn't get much cuter than this! Look at those piggies!

Avvondale is 1 and his eyes just keep getting more gorgeous!

Gracie has graced my blog for a LONG time - even when she was in the womb! She is now the big 2 and full of personality. I've got one of my own. I heard 3 is worse???...help me. =)
Dogs are always welcome!

Gracie was obviously annoyed at how loud we were being while she was trying to read us a story...=)

Then we had some eggs -

Isn't she a doll?!

So is her mommy =)

These are some personal shots I wanted to share. This is one of my best friends from back home in Seattle and her son Landon who was about 2 months old at the time. Crella and I watched the kids all day while the guys went snowboarding...how does that happen??? =)

One of my favorite ALL time couples, Bradi and Scott, were expecting their daughter Kylee and I'm actually doing her 2 month shoot this weekend. Maybe I can post those images on time!

JENNIFER & ANDREW - JAN 12
I wanted to share a few photos from a wedding in January. OK, so I'm all caught up on blogging about my past weddings. I am so excited because next month weddings start up again! I'm shooting engagement sessions like crazy right now and am LOVING getting to know the couples for the 2008 wedding season. Lucky me!
Anyway, I had a great time at this wedding. I didn't get to shoot an engagement session for them, so it was out first time together and they were great. The church was absolutely stunning and it was a beautiful ceremony and party afterwards.

This was way too cute not to share - hiding in the corner with some cake

Coming clean in order to heal
This is a very sensitive post for me, but one I have been meaning to talk about for a very long time and I am going to write from my heart. In the photos below you will see images of my 2 year old daughter who has been battling severe Atopic Dermatitis. I posted a long time ago about how when she turned 1 year old we found out she was allergic to peanuts. One year later, after our son was born last July, she began breaking out and itching and was diagnosed with eczema. From July-November it had gotten worse and we discovered she was allergic to milk, wheat, dogs, cats and her peanut numbers went up 16 points. So, we pull those foods from her diet, give the cat to family, and make sure our dogs stay outside and away from her. You'd think she'd be better?? Nope, she got worse and heartbreaking worse. I would really like to go into specifics of all the issues we've had with Doctors and alternative treatments, but I wont. These pictures of my daughter are only a piece of the emotional roller coaster and trauma that our family has experienced. Imagine having hundreds of mosquito bites all over your body. You would be irritable, you probably wouldn't feel like eating and how would you get comfortable enough to relax and sleep? These are just a few examples of what my daughter has experienced. Weight loss, lack of sleep, irritability, and those all equal lack of energy. Oh, I forgot to mention how she would scratch herself so bad that she would bleed and scream because she didn't know how to control her feelings and hurting. I would go through a tub of Eucerin in about 3 days caking her with cream to keep her skin hydrated. That alone made her crazy and would you feel like running around and playing when you were coated with cream so bad you were white? I was told to wash her hair with Cetaphil body wash. She looked malnourished, unclean and I was honestly ashamed to take her anywhere in public except preschool. The times that I did people stared at her, especially her hands and I felt like they were judging me. I would like to say that I could care less, but I did. My daughter is beautiful and very well taken care of and how dare someone look at her wrong or judge me as a mother? She was sick and I couldn't find anyone to help her and give me an ACTUAL diagnosis of what was happening to her. My heart was breaking, our family life was sinking and my world was caving in around me. Am I supposed to answer emails & return phone calls in a timely fashion when I can barely keep myself afloat? Yes, I was supposed to though. Watching my daughter's quality of life go downhill at the age of 2 was deeply painful and stressful for me. I was trying to do all I could to help her, but we still couldn't get her cleared up. She could barely finish a sentence with out itching 5 places on her body in agony. Was there something horribly wrong with her? That paranoia set in and I think I went into robot mode asking everyone and anyone to help me find answers. FINALLY I was introduced to another mother through our preschool and she was our saving grace. Last week we took her to Seattle to see a specialist and we were given a diagnosis that was completely out of left field and very treatable. She has not finished her first set of antibiotics so we are keeping our fingers crossed and are very, very hopeful that she will remain clear. That is child #1.
Our son was born in July and he is the finishing touch on our family. I was in love from day one. Bringing home a baby to a house with a 2 year old & a FT job at home was very challenging and a huge change in dynamic. I struggled to get our son to nap when our daughter was running around being loud - being 2 (before she started to break out). One day I laid him down for a nap on our bed instead of his crib in his room so he could be further away from the noise. Boy did he nap, and I had nothing to worry about, he was barely 5 weeks old and he would be fine on the bed. Wrong. Very, very, wrong. I dont know WHY I was so lucky but by the grace of god I checked on him awhile later and saw my worst nightmare, an image that still haunts me to this day, my son rolled over, face down on the bed. When I rolled him over he was blue, pale and barely breathing. My husband called 911 as I gave CPR to my newborn son. - OK, I just finished balling my eyes out and I'm ready to finish the story - My dear friend Kelly, a NICU nurse, arrived before the ambulance to assist me. The rest of the story is horrible so I wont go into detail about the admittance to the hospital for 4 days, way too many tests, a breakdown of guilt BUT the great news that he was perfectly fine and it was what it was, an accident. I obviously did not mean to harm my child but the guilt of what I did will never go away. I think that is why sometimes I remember and feel devastated.
Again, I wasn't going to post about these issues because I felt like they were very private and nobody's business but ours. Time has passed and I need to talk about them and get them out in the open because not doing so makes me feel guilty. I want to let people know that I am human and I have a home business run around the people who mean the most to me. Over the past 7 months I have not been myself, whether I am the new Tera or not, I dont know yet and time will tell. But I have definitely struggled with everything on my plate and that includes all aspects of the photography business. I am very lucky to do what I do and I love it. Through all of this, meeting with clients and getting out there to shoots was an outlet. As much as I love my family I am absorbed with them 24-7 and photography is always something that makes me happy. I'm not going to proof read this post because I will probably chicken out and delete it. =) So excuse any bad grammar and mis-spellings but...who cares about all that anyway. Life is too short, live it.

ANDREA & BRIAN - ENGAGED
I was really excited to finally meet Andrea & Brian because they live in Chicago and booked me without meeting in person. They were home for Christmas so we got to go out and have some fun in the cold again. These couples are just champs about going outside in the winter, I love it! Anyway, we headed down to a park and hung out for a little bit before we froze and got some great images. Here are some of my favs...
The reflection off the river was really intense that morning - I love it

The sun was a little harsh on this shot but oh well, I love it!

POLLY & CODY - NOV. 24
This was a wedding down in Pendelton, OR in November and it was freezing! Polly was such a good sport and wanted to go outside for a bit to take advantage of the church grounds and the clear weather we had. You could never tell in any of their photos but she was shivering most of the time...but she worked it. She was breath taking. Polly holds a special place in my heart. She was one of the nurses that cared for my son when we spent 4 days in the hospital last summer when he was 5 weeks old. I never blogged about the situation but it was a life changing experience that changed me & my outlook on life & family forever. She is so sweet and has the most gentle heart and I am so glad that I was able to be apart of her wedding.

Polly looked so amazing!

BRITTANY & BRIAN - NOV 10
Isn't it really sad that this is 1 of 3 weddings I shot in Nov/Dec that I haven't blogged about!? I have been so bad...
Anyway, this was a super fun wedding that I shot over in Seattle at Lord Hill Farms. I actually looked at the facility for my wedding - so I was already a fan. It's such a nice setting and a beautiful view of the country. We had a gorgeous day and it was perfect. I just adore Brian's family and I was so honored to be apart of another wedding in their family. I had SO much fun. =)

On the alter after their first sight

Their friends were so much fun -

Amy...I had to do it...

Amy & Bevon - married AUG 2006 - there's a chance you might recognize them from my website =)

KATRINA & JUSTIN - ENGAGED
Here are a few images from hanging out with Katrina & Justin back in, I think, October! I've been a bad blogger. Anyway, I had a great time hanging out with them and enjoying one of the last great days of the fall. We had rescheduled 2 times because of the crazy winds and we finally got a gorgeous day. Speaking of gorgeous!!!!

I love making guys do this...=)

CHRISTINA & MATT - ENGAGED
It has been such a long time since I did this engagement shoot...as you might be able to tell from the condition of the park...but it was a great time. Christina was a gorgeous bridesmaid in a wedding I shot a few years ago and now she's going to be a gorgeous bride herself. I'm really excited because they are getting married in a mansion in Spokane and I LOVE traveling to capture a wedding. It's actually coming up soon and I can't wait!

It's a great day - I just ordered a ton of new gear and I'm all giddy happy! =)

CHERIE & CHIP - OCT. 6
I knew that I wanted to share a lot of images from this wedding because of the crazy detail, but I had SO much that I had to throw a couple of collages together because I couldn't decide. First of all, Cherie is one of my favorite people. She is generous, grateful, caring, beautiful, creative and fun to be around - just to name a few. I met her when she was a bridesmaid in a wedding I shot last spring and through other weddings or planning her own she has been in my life ever since. I am super bummed that her wedding is over but like many of the couples I work with, our friendship will continue down the road. Congratulations Chip & Cherie - I wish you so much happiness!

SHAREE & JON - SEPT. 29
Another amazing couple, another amazing wedding. Jon & Sharee are so fun, relaxed and up for anything AND look amazing no matter what. I had a great time hanging out with them when we did their engagement shoot at the Seattle Center and their big day was no different. They have this super cool chemistry and respect for each other that is really nice to be around. It was such an honor to be apart of their wedding and I couldn't be happier for them.

KAREN & KEVIN - SEPT. 22
I feel like I write the same thing about the weddings I shoot, but I just am SO lucky/happy to work with such amazing people. I'm sure I get repetative, and this wedding was amazing like the others. The detail and decor was gorgeous and everyone was so happy and fun to work with. This was definitely an emotional one for me...it happens every once in awhile. =) Karen was just so genuinely happy & emotional and was teary quite a bit...which makes ME teary...but she was just LOVING her day and the overwhelming love & support you feel from the people who mean the most to you. It was a great experience.

Karen's hair was so fun & unique

Kevin's groomsmen were a crack up and really fun to work with

This moment brought me to tears and I was lucky to be right there

More fun after the ceremony jitters were over

JOLEA & DARRELL - SEPT. 15
Another amazing wedding with amazing people. Jo & Darrell have such chemistry and I learned that immediately at their engagement session and it was no different at their wedding. The details were amazing and I loved how simple and romantic everything was. The reception got to be quite the party - jello shots anyone? =) I had an unbelievable time with them and their close family/friends. Congrats you guys!
I love her, she's as tall as I am!

Jo's daughter was her attendant - gorgeous!

BRITTNEY & BLAKE - SEPT. 1
Again, it has been a really long time since this wedding and I have been a serious blog slacker. Brittney & Blake were my first wedding back after having my son and boy was it a bang. They are such a fun, loving, gorgeous couple and it was a great way to come back to work. There was not a time when Brittney was not smiling her signature smile and Blake was right along with her. This was a huge wedding and the details came together absolutely beautifully. I'm so glad I was able to share their day with them. They are such a great match. Congrats!!!
Getting ready

KIMBERLEY & SHANE - ENGAGED
Total naturals = Kimberley & Shane. I had it pretty easy on this shoot, but they made it SO hard to narrow down the best ofs - even which ones to pick to show on the blog was hard! So I picked a few that were some of my personal favs and that show how cute & fun they are. I was so thrilled that they wanted to get in the river - what troopers. =) I'm so excited to share their special day with them. They are my 8/8/08 wedding - the big date for 2008 like this years' 7/7/07 that everyone was talking about. Pretty cool!
Shane knows what the ladies want in their photos =)

This image speaks to me in so many ways - I just love it

LISA & DAVID - SEPT. 2
I usually am a bit nervous to shoot a wedding w/out meeting the couple and getting to know them through the planning and engagement session and this was still the case...but not for long. Lisa & Dave live in Ohio and I did not meet them until 2 days before their big day for a short meeting to firm up details - which was another great time at Starbucks. =) Lisa is almost always smiling, seriously, it is so cute. Dave's brother was a groomsman and the two of them have inherited a laugh that will stick in your head FOR DAYS! Sometimes I had to just stop and crack up because they were laughing ALL the time and it was making me just bust up! It was an amazing, small & intimate wedding and I had a really, really great time with them and their families & friends. We couldn't have gotten a more gorgeous day either with such yummy light. I was loving it!

5 Cheers for 5 Years!
It's hard to believe that 5 years ago today I was walking down the aisle about to marry my best friend & soul mate. Now we are so blessed to have 2 beautiful children who I am so lucky to be able to stay at home with. I look forward to taking this crazy journey of life together with him and laughing the whole way along.
BLOG neglection
Seriously, it has been INSANE! I have been trying to balance life with a new baby & a 2 year old, working from home and being the busiest time of the year has made it all so much more difficult. I have about 5 amazing weddings to share and a few fun engagement sessions so I promise I will get back to posting more often again. =)

ANGIE & DAVE - JUNE 30
I know, it's been months since I shot this wedding. It was my last before the baby came and it has been done for awhile but I was saving it to show during my leave and I never got around to it until now. It was amazing though! Angie & Dave are my superstar couple that I was highlighted for earier this year on collages.net (my proofing website) They are so passionate about each other and their faith and they had such remarkable people to support them - it was really moving. I hope they have kids soon because I am going to miss photographing them! =)

JO & DARRELL - ENGAGED
I was so excited during this shoot. I was really nervous that Jo & Darrell were going to think I was the biggest idiot in my ways I get people to smile and interact while I'm shooting (they probably did) BUT they were so easy to work with and were totally into eachother & we got some amazing images. Jo is such a beautiful woman and the 2 of them together just look good and they have so much chemistry it's sick - in a good way. =) They are tying the knot next weekend and I am very happy for them and can't wait to share in their special day.

KAREN & KEVIN - ENGAGED
I can't believe how fast September has come - only 2 more days of my official "maternity leave" =) Karen and Kevin are one of my September couples getting married and I couldn't be happier to be working with them. I wish I had a lot more photos to share but we lost our sun light pretty early because we were talking WAY too much. They are just an all around great couple and individually very cool, relaxed people. How do I always get so lucky? =)

SYDNEY & JEFF - JUNE 23
I was so excited to shoot this wedding. It was my first time shooting the wedding for a sibling of a previous bride AND it was down in Corvallis, OR on a Christmas Tree farm - in a barn - that they renovated for the wedding - and she wore her sister's wedding dress - and got married in the church her parents were married in - and had the same cake topper as her folks. Phew. That about sums it up! No really, I had a SUPER fun time and I absolutely love the 2 families and I was so honored to be there. It was a nice little trip before the baby came. I was so excited when Sydney called me and told me there was this gorgeous field of lavender that we could shoot in. We didn't realize that it was have literally thousands of bees...SO we shot for ohhhh about 2 minutes and we were outta there. That could have been real bad!! =) It was so beautiful, and so was their amazing day.

The church her parents were also married in - beautiful

I highly recommend this duo - they were so good!

The first throw back I have ever seen! Hilarious!

I believe a beer run was made before I left for the night!

BRITTNEY & BLAKE - ENGAGEMENT
This is one of my all time favorite shoots, seriously, this couple is amazing. Brittney is so energetic and has such a bold, fun personality and Blake is laid back and cool w/ whatever. Not to mention they are total hotties! =) I love when couples take a chance and trust my suggestions even when they think I'm crazy. We got some amazing images together and had an absolute BLAST doing it. These are just a few out of over 100 to share.
We did this shoot a LONG time ago but I was saving it to share during my time off. They are actually getting married in a few weeks and are my first wedding back. I couldn't be more excited to have the pleasure of photographing their wedding - it is going to be quite the par-tay!

First sight
It has been a tough decision for a lot of couples getting married - Do we want to see each other before the wedding for photos? Speaking from experience as a photographer and at my own wedding, I think that it's a great idea. I just wanted to share the first sight from a recent wedding to show that the moment can be just as special before she walks down the isle.
This is a really fun first sight - believe me...there have been some sobbers. =)
This is the fabulous Sydney & Jeff who were married in Corvalis, OR in June. I will be posting some of their wedding photos soon.

Happy as can be - straight into the "formal" shots

Feeling SO much better!
OK, so it has been almost 3 weeks since our son was born and I am anxious to start posting the TONS of photo shoots I had at the end of my pregnancy that I have been saving to share during my time off. I can't believe that September is just around the corner and I will be back to SUPER busy again in just a few short weeks. I have some AMAZING weddings coming up in September and I'm excited to be working with these uber cool couples. I am so lucky...I can't mention that enough.
AND - I am feeling really good and getting used to functioning on less sleep. =)

CHERIE & CHIP - ENGAGEMENT
Holy cow, I can't say enough about this couple. I am just so thrilled to be a part of their wedding. Cherie was a bridesmaid in a wedding I did last spring and the family/friends in their circle are some of the funnest & most thoughtful people. Cherie is such a sweetie & her and Chip are so fun to hang out with. She is one of the biggest goofballs I've ever photographed and I mean that in such a good way. We started out on her family's farm and had a complete BLAST - then to the park hang out. I dont want to share all of the crazy/funny/fabulous pics they took, but here are a few to show off this amazing couple and their super cool personalities.
I wont even try and explain what was going on here...

Cherie whipping out the ball & chain =) this was hilarious to watch!

I dont think Chip really needed it though

Did I mention the GORGEOUS pair of eyes they have?

Can't be on the farm and not jump on the JD

Chillin' out to a sunset after quite a bit of excitement...=)

MEGAN & BRANDON - ENGAGEMENT
This was an engagement shoot I did a little while ago & haven't shared because I wanted to save up some of my recent work to show while I'm on maternity leave...which is finally here! Only a few more weeks and hopefully I'll have pics of our little addition...
Anyway, I had a great time with this couple. They are super, super affectionate and just went out and did their thing. I actually had to convince them to look at ME for a couple of shots! They were so into eachother and it was a breeze to photograph their chemistry. Congrats you two -

All booked up & maternity leave
I just wanted to give a little notice again that I will be on maternity leave ALL of July & August and the rest of my June calendar has booked solid. I will be available on a limited schedule to do everything EXCEPT a photo shoot.
I will not be scheduling any appointments for photo shoots for ALL of JULY & AUGUST.
I will be scheduling meetings for upcoming weddings, new weddings and album consultations
I will be accepting reprint orders - please be patient with the new mommy - it will take longer to process & deliver
I will be returning calls and emails - again, PLEASE be patient with me =)
I have been so busy lately and have been keeping my blog entries to a minimum so I will have some stuff to share over the time I'm out. I have had some unbelievable shoots lately - just amazing people that I'm working with. I am always SO lucky!
I am very excited to welcome our second child into the world, especially a boy. Having a boy and girl is what I have always dreamed of and I can't believe our family is about to be complete. On another note - I AM SOOOOOOOOOO READY TO NOT BE PREGNANT ANYMORE!!! =)

LAURIE & DEVON - MAY 27
I spent a lot of time with Laurie right before her wedding and became such a big fan. She is such a happy, positive person and she just radiates when she smiles. Her and Devon have an amazing connection. They have been in each other's lives for about 10 years since they were very young and were finally married a few weeks ago. They had a beautiful ceremony, which brought me to tears once and a great time dancing the night away.

Expecting Troy
I recently did the maternity photos for one of my most amazing past brides, Danielle. She is the sweetest, cutest thing and her belly is adorable. I wish I could share more of her images, especially with her husband Dmitri, but they were a little too private - but so amazing. =) They are welcoming their first son Troy in August and she better not beat me to the hospital...
Congratulations you guys, I am SO happy for you!

Dani and her beautiful daughters Jocelyn & Zoe.

JESSICA & KEVIN - MAY 19
Another super fun wedding, as usual. Jessica was surrounded by some of the coolest girls that just made the day so relaxed and fun. Despite the wind blowing a million mph, everyone was up for "whatever". You might remember this couple from a post I had of their engagement session where they were reinacting their cake topper. Here is what it looks like so check out the post and see how we did. =)

*****VACATION*****
I will be relaxing on Lake Coeur d'Alene for a week from Saturday, June 2nd - Saturday, June 9th. I will respond to emails & phone calls when I return. Yeeeeeeeeeeah!
ERIN & RICK - ENGAGEMENT
I wanted to leave a post before I go on vacation with some of my favorite images from a recent session. This was one of the coolest, funnest shoots I've ever had. This is a couple that had me booked for their wedding this July and I unfortunately had to cancel with them because of the baby. I was SO flattered when they contacted me and asked me to shoot their engagement photos - I was totally on board. I was even MORE excited when I heard that they wanted to dress in relaxed wedding attire for the shoot and just go have fun with it. Erin bought a second hand designer gown and totally rocked it. They had a ton of fun ideas and were totally willing to do anything I wanted them to do. Although it was THEIR idea to jump into the river & I was more than happy to be there to capture it. There were about 10 other shots I wanted to share but these were some of my favorites.
Thank you guys for the amazing time and letting me challenge myself. I am so glad I was still able to photograph you at your most special time. Congratulations!

COURTNEY & JT - MAY 12
This was such a sweet wedding. An old boss of mine asked me to photograph her daughter's wedding and I couldn't have been more thrilled. Courtney is the oldest of her 4 absolutely beautiful daughters and it was so much fun to watch this amazing bond that they have. The ceremony was held out in the middle of Howard Amon park and the party moved into RCC. It was a small intimate wedding, but the details were still unbelievable. It was a pleasure to be there and see SO many smiling faces in one place. I hope you're enjoying Paris!!
The first 2 images were taken by Ali Walker, who assisted me at this wedding. She doesn't have a website yet, but once she does I will plug it in for everyone to check out. Alexis had the weekend off. =)

Addyson
I have been so busy that I completely forgot to post some pics of the stunning little Addyson. This little one is so adorable and has the prettiest features. She is very expressive and was studying me a lot...very intruging. I had a really hard time narrowing down the images that I wanted to post! Her gorgeous mom worked out well as a nice background! =) Thanks Elizabeth!

Vacation & Maternity Leave
As the end of my pregnancy nears I thought I'd let everyone know that I will be taking all of July & August off for the baby. I have weddings starting stong in September again so I will be available, but please be patient with my response to emails/phone calls during those 2 months. I will not be scheduling any shoots in July or August.
I will also be taking a mini vacation the first week of June from the 2nd-9th. I will be completely unavailable at that time.
Thanks for the support and patience with me during this crazy time in my life. Taking care of a toddler, being pregnant, and working FT have been a blessing, yet a bit of a struggle for me. I guess it's all part of the experience & I wouldn't have it any other way. =)

LISA & DENNIS - MAY 5
What a crazy, fun, amazing couple, beautiful wedding this was! I just adore Lisa & Dennis - they have such an amazing energy and are so much fun to work with. They are so comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera and outwardly put all of their trust in me and I LOVE it! I wanted to share so many more images of them but I tried to narrow it down to some of my favs of two of them. Congratulations - I just love you guys! =)

The beautiful Ella is 2
Ella has graced my blog since I first started and will continue for awhile! She is the oldest daughter of a friend of mine and a buddy of my daughter's. Kelly and I had been planning to do Ella's 2 year pics for a long time and the weather was always windy and nasty, or someone was sick...it was tough to work out. But one day Ella was over playing and I got some great shots of her just playing with my daughter in my messy house. I'm sure Kelly would have loved to have her hair done and in a pretty little outfit, but the essence of a her 2 year old came out in these shots - she's just a fun, beautiful, happy little girl. Here's some of my favs...

Honored...
I am so happy to hear that Collages.net picked Angie & Dave's engagement session as their Portrait Session of the Week this week! COOL! Collages.net is a 3rd party company that I've used since day 1 to post on-line all of my proofs/etc. for viewing & ordering. I love their new interface and how you can look at all of your images in a slideshow.
Angie & Dave did such a great job at our shoot, they were absolutely amazing. I totally love when couples have an appreciation for great photography and they understand what their part is in getting the images that they want out of the shoot. I feel so lucky to be able to help people feel comfortable & expressive at a shoot and capture those moments in time. Gotta love it!
Thanks Collages!

SHAREE & JON - ENGAGEMENT
This was my other super fun couple that I shot in Seattle a couple weeks ago. I had such a BLAST with them! I was feeling a little tired, being 6 months pregnant and I just did Angie & Dave's e-session a few hours earlier...but the minute I met up with these two, I was totally refreshed. They are so cute together and so full of smiles and fun. Jon is quite the character, Sharee is so laid back and they were open to everything I wanted to put them through. =) We had a quick stroll through the Seattle Center and found lots of fun little places to shoot. I had a great time and I'm so excited to be a part of their wedding this September.

ANGIE & DAVE - ENGAGEMENT
I love shooting in Seattle, it is one of my favorite places...and not just because I'm from that area. There are so may places to shoot, the possibilities are endless. I've worked on the UW campus before and was thrilled that Angie & Dave wanted to go there. It ended up raining, so they held off at home for a little bit while I ventured to the U Village shopping area to blow some time. The store fronts of the stores were SO amazing that I had to shoot there. I'm sure they thought I was nuts but they were up for anything...my kinda people =). Anyway, they totally nailed the shoot and were SO easy to photograph. I was loving it!

In Seattle
I was in Seattle again last weekend shooting 2 AMAZING engagement sessions for 2 amazing couples. I can't wait to get the images done to share. The posts will be up soon!!
JESSICA & KEVIN - ENGAGEMENT
Another super fun couple! I am ALWAYS so lucky! Jessica is so cute and was laughing at everything we were doing. They were telling me about their cake topper and how it's a bride dragging the groom by his collar and he's digging his fingers in the ground...SO we tried it! =) and....a couple shots of their dipping attempt! Sorry guys, it's too funny I had to share! Their wedding is going to be a blast!

Hailey at 5 months
Hailey is the cutest thing! She has the biggest smile and is SO expressive and is sooooo easy to photograph. If you follow the blog you might know that she's the daughter of one of my friends and her newborn pics are posted as well. Her daughters are my little models and I probably take more pictures of them than my own! =) My daughter is VERY serious/curious when I'm trying to photograph her. She either wants to grab the camera or she looks at me like I'm the biggest idiot. It makes me laugh. I have one picture of her on my site, it's on my contact page...she's not smiling, but looks adorable. =)

Too cute
LISA & DENNIS - ENGAGEMENT
I was SOOOO excited for this shoot. Not just because I was working with a super fun, cool couple but because it had been WAY too long since I had been out on location. I had 2 months off and was loving spending a lot of time with my daughter and enjoying the pregnancy, but I was ready to GO! I couldn't have asked for a better day, couple, experience, outcome. Lisa & Dennis are very affectionate & just totally down to earth - comfortable in front of the camera. I will be shooting a ton of engagements soon because I have to get all my fall weddings in before the baby comes & I'm OUT of commission for a little bit. But this was a great way to get ready! I'm SO excited!

Congrats Justin of PHS!!!!

I just wanted to say CONGRATS to Justin Schadler of Pasco HS who recently won the wrestling state title in the 135 weight class. He was one of my '07 seniors last summer and he was a bunch of fun to work with. Justin's mom loves his smiling photos, but these were some of my favs...gotta love the serious look on dudes. On another note, doesn't he look like Eminem??? =)

HOLY COW! How perfect...
So we got the fabulous news on Wednesday that we are going to be welcoming a BOY to our little family! We are so excited and couldn't feel more lucky. A girl and a boy, ahhhhh I'm still SO in shock and feeling so blessed. =) I couldn't be happier right now, even with all that extra junk in the trunk!

Tomorrow is the big day!
Tomorrow is my ultrasound where we can find out if we're having a boy or a girl and I'M SO EXCITED!!!!! Besides being a little tired from chasing a 19 month old around, the pregnancy is fabulous! Just like my first, I feel great and am doing very well. I can't believe wedding season is just around the corner, I need new clothes that fit!!! =)
Gracie turns 1!

If you have followed my post for awhile I'm sure you've noticed Gracie at some time or another. She was born right when I started this blog and now she is 1! She is the cutest thing and has quite the fun personality. It has been so fun photographing her, even when I did her mom's maternity session...that was cheezy, but true! =) Anyway, Happy Birthday sweetie!
ERIN & JOSH - JAN 13

OK, so I'm a LITTLE behind on posting an image from Erin & Josh's wedding...in January. Needless to say, my days have been crazy busy. This was a super cool, nice, easy-going, fun couple. Their reception was so unique and a really cool idea. Their reception was at Stone Ridge, of course, and I felt like I was at a super nice BAR! There were minimal tables because of the huge guest list, but people we totally having a great time standing and socializing. One of the appitizers was served in a martini glass, how cool is that?!!!! I love the shot of them before they fed eachother the cake...there was no smashing BTW...but look how cute that little cake was? They had a cheesecake bar, but they still needed something to cut! =) Anyway, it was really cool to see something different and I think they wouldn't have had it any other way.
